Dublin: Collaborative Arts symposium

30.05.13

On the 29th of May in Dublin, Create Ireland, the national development agency for collaborative arts hosted a one-day symposium with collaborative artists and those interested in collaborative methodologies.

Titled Towards a European Learning Network, the symposium aimed to gain a greater understanding of the professional development needs of artists across artforms who choose to locate themselves within a collaborative or collective practice. Guest artist and facilitator of the symposium was Joshua Sofaer, who led a collaborative workshop, and presented his work including the Scavengers. Minna Tarkka made a presentation on Participatory open media.

The symposium is a step towards a professional development network for collaborative arts, the development of which was initiated by Create (IE), Tate Liverpool (UK), Live Art Development Agency (UK); m-cult (Finland) in early 2013.
