As the first residency artists arrive in Helsinki this May, m-cult increasingly works in the Maunula neighbourhood. During the La Jetee residency, the Maunula media workshop will become our temporary office as the artists Paolo Patelli and Giuditta Vendrame open their reception desk to collect resident's photos and videos for their project Maunula Atmospheres. Other venues this Spring include the Saunabaari community centre, Maunula church - and of course the public spaces in Maunula that will become sites of projections and urban walks.
The artistic process and events will be followed on the new blog m-cult Maunulassa. The Finnish-speaking site is targeted to the residents and includes plain language introductions to the artists and their projects, invitations to participate as well as a small vocabulary of contemporary art.
