Performing Places - media and embodiment in the urban environment
Performing Places brings together artists, researchers and developers whose work touches on the experiential, affective and political aspects of urban and technological life, and who share an interest in inventive artistic and technical practices of the urban environment.
The project includes a transdisciplinary seminar and a set of artistic experiments that seek to understand and describe today's urban experience. It is realized in the context of USED, Urban Space of Experience Design, an arts and research interaction project carried out by m-cult, centre for new media culture and HIIT, Helsinki Institute for Information Technology.
Performing Places seminar takes place in November 7-9, 2006 at the Theatre Academy of Finland. Registration for the seminar is now open.
