Ari Tenhulachoreographer, researcher, Theatre Academy of Finland, Helsinki (FI) Dance of simultaneous relations and meaningsKeywords: Dance art, dance and technology, mobile media This paper will explain my choises for using digital technologies in dance by a brief look at the historical uses of technologies in dance and how current uses change our perception of dance. I will state my interest in creating performances that are hybrid and how these new practices in dance-technology can alter the performance, the role of the author and that of the audience. With a few examples I will present my practice which has led me to use dance animation and live processed video on performance. Further I will talk about my use of the internet in mapping imaginary metamorphoses in an installation/performance that used the method of distributed authorship. I will conclude by sharing thoughts on the use of dance and my views on location in the project Mobile Places Helsinki. I will discuss the ways in which I can undermine linear narratives of a space and find a way of creating dance acts that could foster alternative readings to a single location. For this I will look at the current discussion on ontology of modern dance and it's meaning for dance practice. See also: Mobile Places , videoblog experiment
